Consent to the use of biometric data with the purpose of authentication and identity verification (Electronic Identification)

For your remote electronic identification process, biometric data resulting from taking a dynamic selfie (i.e. photo and moving images with sound in real time) and scanning of face characteristics, will also be used. Collecting biometric data and using the dynamic selfie enables us through advanced AI technological tools in combination with human critical judgement skills to verify whether the person that requests remote electronic identification is indeed the same as the person appearing on the submitted identification document national identity card or passport, etc.)

More specifically, the  process stated below shall be followed:

• Scan of ID document and verification that the ID document is accepted and valid.
• Authentication of ID document through artificial intelligence and image processing technologies like detecting visual characteristics, document type image matching, verification of front and back side of ID document.
• Export of ID document details through OCR technology.
• Taking  automatically dynamic selfie images of the  user to be identified,  based on the dynamic and not static taking of selfie photographs of the natural person to ensure liveness.
• Confirming the identification of the user with the person appearing on the identification document, using biometric analysis.

In case of unsuccessful completion of the above process, TELEKOM PAYMENTS directs the user to a video call with a specialised representative for the purpose of the final identification check.

Information resulting from the analysis of your biometric data are used exclusively for the purpose of electronic identification. TELEKOM PAYMENTS retains as evidence of conduct of the above-described identification process the result of the biometric data processing and not the biometric data as such. The  biometric data is not stored by TELEKOM PAYMENTS.
